The Swedish Network for Psychedelic Science (Nätverket för Psykedelisk Vetenskap, NPV) is a nonprofit organization based in Stockholm that works to promote the scientific study of psychedelic substances. The organization was formed in 2016 with the intent to act as a hub, connecting researchers from verious disciplines with each other and the international psychedelic science community. The response has been large and positive, resulting in over 400 paying members nationally.
A core feature of the organization has been lectures with international researchers at Karolinska Institute, where we found early support. But the organization also hosts movie screenings, social gatherings and smaller seminars. It has truly been a beautiful journey, being part of the birth of a Swedish psychedelic science community.
Interest in psychedelic science has been larger than anticipated, inducing hope for upcoming studies. Sweden is known to be a progressive country, where science is regarded highly. As we invite the psychedelic science community to the Colloquium on Psychedelic Psychiatry 2018, we hope to decrease the stigma associated with these substances, unlocking further potential and new collaborations. Welcome to join us!
